Our Volunteers make a difference!
A cheery smile, a kind word and caring touch... that is what our incredible Sky Ridge Volunteers offer our patients and their families on a daily basis. Their warmth and commitment helps set Sky Ridge apart from other hospitals. Our Volunteers are from varied backgrounds and experience, but they have one thing in common -- a desire to something meaningful. They give of their time and talent to make a difference with our patients, families, physicians and staff. Many of our Volunteers or their family members are former patients, and they want to "give back." A number of our Volunteers are retired and they enjoy the luxury of helping others. Others are students wanting to get a sense of the healthcare industry.
We truly value our Volunteers and their contributions... they play at key role at Sky Ridge. And, we are delighted that so many have established lasting friendships through their volunteer connection. If you want to join the ranks of these amazing individuals, please read further.

How You Can Help
Sky Ridge Volunteers engage in a variety of activities including:
Greeting patients and families from all over Colorado and beyond
Staffing our Information Desk and Surgical Waiting Rooms
Adding support and comfort on our patient floors and in our Emergency Department
Assisting with various projects including special events
Delivering flowers, packages and mail to patients
Visiting patients and escorting visitors throughout Sky Ridge
Our Volunteers typically contribute at least four hours once a week. Our Volunteer Services Department takes great care to match a volunteers interests and skills to a specific Sky Ridge Medical Center assignment. Our core areas are at the Information Desk and Surgical Waiting Rooms. In addition, we place Volunteers in the Emergency Department, patient recovery floors, Surgical Services, and several non-clinical departments offering administrative support.
All Volunteers attend a special orientation session and receive personal training within the department to which they are assigned. In addition, each Volunteer receives a Sky Ridge vest or polo shirt, along with a Sky Ridge identification badge to wear while volunteering.
According to many of our Volunteers, the greatest benefit they receive from volunteering is a genuine sense of satisfaction from helping others. Our Volunteers also appreciate the opportunity to learn new skills and to make new friends.
